OUR WIDE OPEN VISTAS AND WESTERN SKIES ARE NOW THREATENED BY CREEPING INDUSTRIALIZATION!

ESPEE ROAD - PERRIN RANCH WIND TURBINE PROJECT SEEKING COUNTY PERMIT TO INSTALL SIXTY-TWO (62) 400-FOOT TALL WIND TURBINES.  SEVERAL TURBINES WILL BE AS CLOSE AS A HALF A MILE TO PROPERTIES IN THE SOUTH-EAST QUADRANT (RED BLUFF RD./PAINTED ROCK TRAIL/FOUR HILLS RANCH RD.

The answer is NO. These turbines will NOT provide power to our off-the-grid community!

Although we, the taxpayer, will finance this project with federal subsidies, the power will be sent to the grid and out-of-state.  We essentially will become the industrial power plant for God-Knows-Who and our beautiful vistas will become cluttered with the noise and views of turbines!

Solar is the best renewable energy for this area.

Four Hills Ranch is a beautiful high desert community nestled in the juniper-pinyon forests of Northern Arizona. We are located between the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff. Our environment is not what most people imagine when they think of Arizona; located nearly a mile above sea level we enjoy a true four-seasons lifestyle.

Four Hills Ranch

The ranch consists of 36 to 40 acre parcels which can be subdivided into (no smaller than) 10 acre parcels. Owners of these parcels (some of whom have multiple parcels) own for a variety of reasons. Many plan to build part-time residences for seasonal enjoyment, others intend to build and live on the ranch full-time. Still, there are many who plan to use their land strictly for camping and other recreational uses.

Four Hills Ranch is not connected to any municipal water or sewer system; there is no electrical power, and no land-based telephone service. Owners will have to be creative, but there are new technologies that allow modern conveniences in this remote locale.

Small satellite dish systems provide high speed internet, television signal and telephone services. Using photo-voltaic (PV) cells and wind turbines can provide all the electrical needs for landowners. Water catchment using gutters and other collection techniques are helpful in saving water in cisterns. Many owners choose to either haul or have water delivered to their property.

Septic systems are necessary for black and grey water treatment to satisfy state and county building requirements. Most often, the septic systems required for building at Four Hills are of the so-called "alternative" septic systems. These tend to be significantly more expensive than the standard septic systems. Increasingly stricter state and county requirements are forcing landowners to install the "alternative" systems more frequently than in the past.

Cell phones are the only reliable phone service on Four Hills. Experience has taught us that one should choose their provider carefully: some companies have sufficient cell towers in the area to provide reliable phone connections.  Others do not.

Other services such as mail delivery and solid waste removal are not available and the owners are expected to create their own solutions to these needs.
